ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 27. Turkmenistan and the Czech Republic will develop a memorandum of understanding and a cooperation program between the foreign ministries of both countries, TurkicWorld reports via the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
This issue was announced following a meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries, Rashid Meredov and Jan Lipavský, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The parties emphasized that the memorandum and cooperation program will strengthen bilateral political and diplomatic relations.
Additionally, the ministers discussed expanding trade and economic partnerships, noting the upcoming visit of a Czech business delegation to Ashgabat in October 2024.
The ministers also raised issue of inter-parliamentary dialogue in light of the planned 2025 visit of the Czech Parliament's Deputy Speaker to Turkmenistan.
To achieve the outlined goals, the parties agreed to establish a Turkmen-Czech working group on economic cooperation, which will help boost bilateral trade activities.
