KAZAN, Russia, October 24. BRICS provides an unparalleled contribution to establishing a just global order, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the first plenary session of the XVI BRICS Plus summit in Kazan today, TurkicWorld reports.
"Today we face a multitude of challenges, ranging from security, terrorism, climate change, and food issues. In this context, BRICS becomes increasingly vital, enabling us to align our positions on these critical issues. In light of the fragility in socio-economic development and shifts in global financial systems, we see that the system established after World War II requires change," he stated.
Erdogan emphasized the need for a more comprehensive and balanced approach to addressing these challenges.
"We must strive to find solutions to our challenges by leveraging our collective wisdom and engaging all stakeholders. BRICS plays an unmatched role in constructing a new, equitable global order.
Additionally, Türkiye has been a founding member of various organizations, such as the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, and actively participates in numerous multilateral platforms, including the G20. We are developing cooperation mechanisms with countries across nearly all regions, aiming for arrangements that benefit everyone involved.
Achieving a fair world order and sustainable development is only possible by ensuring stability and security at our borders. Without halting the violence and addressing ongoing crises, we cannot foster meaningful development," he added.
