The President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Gunay Afandiyeva, visited Hungary in connection with the declaration of Veszprem as the 2023 European Capital of Culture and participated in the official opening ceremony, reports TurkicWorld.

The President of Hungary Katalin Novák, President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović, Minister of Regional Development of Hungary Tibor Navracsics, Minister of Culture and Innovation of Hungary János Csák, Chairman of Veszprem Municipality Gyula Porga, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Shusha District Aydin Karimov, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, the head of the representative office of the Organization of Turkic States in Budapest János Hóvári, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Hungary and other officials attended the event.

Within the framework of the event, the President of the Foundation, Gunay Afandiyeva, met with the President of Hungary, Katalin Novák, the Minister of Culture and Innovation of Hungary, János Csák, and the Mayor of Veszprem Municipality, Gyula Porga. The historic ties of friendship between Hungary and the Turkic countries were discussed. The topic of the successful development of existing relations in modern times has been touched upon. The prospects of future cooperation were discussed.
