On July 27, 2026, an international forum titled “ Equipping the Islamic World for the Future: Launching and Calibrating the Strategic Foresight Guide”, organized by the ICESCO Center for Artificial Intelligence and Strategic Foresight (CFAI), began its work at the ICESCO Regional Office in Baku.
Speaking as an honored guest at the official opening ceremony, the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Professor Aktoty Raimkulova, expressed her gratitude to the management of ICESCO and the organization’s Regional Office in Baku for hosting such a significant initiative. She noted that amid rapid technological development, environmental challenges, and global shifts, strategic vision and long-term planning are becoming particularly crucial for states and international organizations. In this regard, the presented Strategic Foresight Manual will serve as a vital contribution to shaping a sustainable and future-oriented approach to development.
The official opening ceremony also featured speeches by the Director General of ICESCO, Dr. Salim AlMalik (online), the Director of the ICESCO Regional Office in Baku, Dr. Abdulhakim Alsenan, Chief Expert at the Policy Center for the New South, Dr. Nouzha Chekrouni, Head of the Partnership and International Cooperation Department at ICESCO, Anar Karimov, and Director of the ICESCO Center for Artificial Intelligence and Strategic Foresight, Dr. Kais Hammami.
The event also included the official presentation of the Strategic Foresight Manual.
The forum will continue with a high-level round table, sessions on finalizing the strategic manual, as well as practical workshops and masterclasses.
