On November 10-11, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov will make a working visit to the city of Samarkand (Republic of Uzbekistan) to participate in the ninth meeting of the Summit of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Muratbek Azymbakiyev, head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic told.
“The leaders of the countries will discuss topical issues of multilateral cooperation within the Organization, adopt the Declaration and Strategy of the OTS for 2022-2026. As part of the event, it is planned to sign agreements and documents in the field of transport, customs, digitalization, as well as appointment to a number of positions in the OTS and the International Turkic Academy.
Also, during the Summit, a decision will be made to appoint a representative of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kubanychbek Omuraliev, to the post of Secretary General of the Organization.
The heads of the member states of the Organization - the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Turkey will take part in the work of the Summit under the chairmanship of the Uzbek side.
Prime Minister of Hungary and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan will take part in the work of the upcoming summit as countries with the status of observers in the OTS.
It is expected that during the visit, President Sadyr zHaparov will hold a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, during which topical issues of bilateral cooperation are discussed,” Muratbek Azymbakiyev informed.
