President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to pay state visit to Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Sept. 30, 2022 / Kabar /. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan Musa Jamanbaev met with Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

During the meeting, the sides noted with satisfaction the results of the recent Joint Meeting of the Governmental Delegations of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek State Border in Bishkek and the signing of the relevant sections of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border.

Mutual commitment was also expressed to further expand and deepen the multifaceted Kyrgyz-Uzbek strategic partnership. It was noted that thanks to the political will of the two heads of state, unprecedented historical steps have been taken in recent years to strengthen and expand relations between the two countries based on the principles of mutual trust and good neighborliness.

Jamanbaev and Sidikov discussed topical issues in preparation for the upcoming state visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan, and also paid special attention to the implementation of joint plans and projects outlined on the eve of the visit. In addition, the sides exchanged views on further strengthening inter-parliamentary ties and organizing the visit of Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Talant Mamytov to Tashkent as part of bilateral and multilateral events.

At the meeting, Jamanbaev provided information on the events that took place on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, the current situation in the Batken region, and also emphasized the commitment of the Kyrgyz side to de-escalation and the unchanging position on the need to resolve disputes between countries exclusively through political and diplomatic means.

Deputy Minister Sidikov noted the need to take all necessary measures to promote peace and stability in the region.
