Prospective areas of cooperation with Greek universities discussed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 6. In Samarkand, on the sidelines of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Kongratbay Sharipov, held a meeting with Greece’s Deputy Minister for Higher Education, Nikolaos Papaioannou.
How TurkicWorld reports via Uza.uz, during the talks, the parties discussed the development of cooperation between higher education institutions of the two countries. In particular, opportunities were explored for academic exchanges among faculty and students, as well as for the participation of experts and researchers from both countries in international forums, conferences, symposia, seminars, and roundtables.

It was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Greece is currently carried out primarily within the framework of the European Union’s educational program “Erasmus+”. This program facilitates the exchange of experience, the implementation of joint educational projects, and the expansion of academic mobility.

Uzbekistan expressed interest in engaging Greek scholars and experts to conduct masterclasses and participate in scientific projects in technology, engineering, tourism, and cultural studies.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify inter-university interaction, implement joint scientific research initiatives, and strengthen cooperation within the “Erasmus+” program.
