BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 8. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, TurkicWorld reports referring to the administration of the President of Kazakhstan.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for his personal participation in the opening ceremony of the 5th World Nomad Games.
President of Kazakhstan noted that the visit of the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan to Astana is of great importance for the further promotion of bilateral cooperation. According to him, today Kazakh-Turkmen relations are developing very successfully and fully correspond to the level of strategic partnership.
In turn, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude for the traditionally warm welcome and wished the large-scale sporting event a success. The national leader of Turkmenistan noted the high role of Astana in organizing major international events that contribute to increasing the country's authority on the world stage.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed previously reached agreements in the trade and economic, energy and transport and logistics spheres and expressed satisfaction with the progress of their implementation.
Special attention was paid to further strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, comprehensively developing in the spirit of friendship and good neighborliness.
The issues of preparation for the upcoming visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan in October of this year were also considered.
