President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation met with Assistant Director-General for Culture of UNESCO Ernesto Ottone

President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova met with Assistant Director-General for Culture of UNESCO Ernesto Ottone during a working visit to France.

At the meeting it was noted that the preservation and popularization of centuries-old values and the rich culture of the Turkic states and peoples in the international arena is a priority mission of the Foundation.

Within the framework of the Foundation's activities, the close cooperation of the Turkic countries with the National Commissions of UNESCO was highly appreciated.

The projects implemented by the Foundation in the field of protection and promotion of the material and spiritual cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples were mentioned. Within the framework of the meeting, information was provided on the Foundation's future projects in the field of restoration in order to preserve the tangible and intangible heritage of the Turkic world.

It was underlined that this year the Foundation is working on the occasion of the celebration of the 950th anniversary of the “Dīwān Lughāt al-Turk" by Mahmud Kashgari, which is considered one of the most significant monuments covering the national and spiritual values of the Turkic peoples, as well as the pearl of world linguistic science.

During the conversation, it was also noted that the Foundation is preparing a publishing project dedicated to “Dīwān Lughāt al-Turk”, the presentation of which is planned at UNESCO headquarters.

The meeting continued with an exchange of views on issues of mutual interest.
