Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan commemorate 30 years of diplomatic relations with document

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 29. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov have signed and approved a "Comprehensive Program of events to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan", TurkicWorld reports via the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's X publication.

The document was signed on the sidelines of the 2nd trilateral meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Trade/Economy and Transport of Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan.

Bayramov and Saidov also discussed political, economic, trade, energy, transport, and communications aspects of Azerbaijani-Uzbek alliance, as well as regional and international security matters of mutual interest.

Moreover, the parties debated prospects of cooperation within the framework of the regional and international organizations, including the Organization of Turkic States, UN, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Non-Aligned Movement, Organization of Economic Cooperation, Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), and other multilateral formats.

Additionally, Bayramov informed his colleague about peace efforts in the region and existing challenges and threats to the sustainable peacebuilding process.

To note, today Turkish, Azerbaijani, and Uzbek ministers of trade, transportation, and foreign affairs met in Ankara, Türkiye. The meeting's agenda covers foreign policy and regional cooperation, boosting trade, economy, and investment partnerships, enhancing regional transportation networks, and fortifying collaboration in transport and communication sectors.
