BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 7. The Azerbaijani city of Lachin will receive the status of the CIS cultural capital in 2025, the aide to Russian President Yuri Ushakov said at a briefing in Moscow, TurkicWorld reports.
"CIS leaders at the summit in Moscow within the humanitarian block of issues will consider draft decisions on giving the status of the cultural capital of the commonwealth to the city of Lachin (Azerbaijan), in 2026 to the city of Meghri (Armenia), and in 2027 to the city of Molodechno (Belarus)," the Russian presidential aide noted.
To note, the Uzbek city of Samarkand received the status of the CIS Capital of Culture in 2024.
