Azerbaijani CEC keeps keen eye on any procedural misstep - chairperson

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 11. The Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan highlights all procedural infractions, chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov said at today's meeting of the CEC, TurkicWorld reports.

To note, extraordinary parliamentary elections were held in Azerbaijan on September 1.

A total of 112,749 local observers were registered to monitor the elections. More than 65,000 of them were representatives of political parties. The number of registered international observers was 598 people, representing 51 organizations, in 69 countries.

Out of 990 registered candidates in the parliamentary elections, 305 are representatives of 25 political parties. Although 371 candidates are members of political parties, they were not nominated by the parties to which they belong. A total of 676 candidates have political party affiliation.
