BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 21. The second global media forum in Shusha is an event in the global media industry. Of course, it is given special weight and significance by the fact that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev spoke and answered for almost three hours, Director General of the Caspian Institute for Strategic Studies (Russia) Igor Korotchenko told Trend on the sidelines of the Second Shusha Global Media Forum on the topic “Exposing false narratives: combating disinformation.”, TurkicWorld reports.
"This is a large-scale event. It shows that Azerbaijan is in the trend of leading events and news agenda. And, of course, considering that Azerbaijan today is not just one of the states of the South Caucasus, but a country that sets global trends in politics, economics, and green energy. After all, the topic of fighting neocolonialism is a trend today; there is a demand for justice all over the world. And Azerbaijan is ahead of all other countries, perhaps, in anticipating the current and future international agenda. And just the fact that representatives of more than 50 countries of the world have gathered here, representing, leading in the media, think tanks of their countries, shows the authority and the respect that Azerbaijan has today in the international arena," Korotchenko said.
The Second Shusha Global Media Forum, organized on the occasion of the 149th anniversary of the national press of Azerbaijan, is attended by more than 150 foreign guests from 50 countries, including news agencies from 30 countries, 3 international organizations and 82 media entities. Among the participants of the Global Media Forum are representatives of foreign media, as well as representatives of Azerbaijani media, experts and officials of Azerbaijan.
The forum will last until July 22.
