Azerbaijani CEC compiles manual for expert group participants

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 13. The Central Election Commission (CEC) has developed a "Guide booklet for members of expert groups" as part of an educational program for individuals with various legal statuses related to the next election to the Azerbaijani Parliament on September 1, 2024, TurkicWorld reports.

The project's implementation and the creation of the guide booklet aim to analyze appeals related to electoral law and offer methodological support to expert groups within district electoral commissions. This is done to enhance the effective protection of citizens' constitutional rights.

The guide booklet, based on the Electoral Code and instructions, clarifications, rules, and other normative documents approved by the Central Election Commission, clearly and in detail reflects the procedures for considering appeals related to electoral law, as well as for drawing up relevant conclusions and draft decisions.

"Guide booklet for members of expert groups" has been handed over to the district election commissions and also posted on the official website of the Central Election Commission (www.msk.gov.az).

On June 28, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree dissolving the sixth convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament and calling for an extraordinary election.

The snap parliamentary election in Azerbaijan is scheduled for September 1, 2024.
