Azerbaijan to expand polling stations for upcoming election in liberated regions

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 10. The number of polling stations in the liberated territories for the upcoming parliamentary election in Azerbaijan will be increased, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov said at a meeting with chairmen of district election commissions, TurkicWorld reports.

According to Panahov, the conditions are being created to hold voting in the extraordinary parliamentary elections at more than 6,400 polling stations in 125 constituencies.

The CEC chairman noted that voting in the liberated territories will also be held for the first time in the election to the Azerbaijani Parliament.

"The number of polling stations in the liberated territories will be increased. 8 more polling stations were established yesterday. We pay special attention to the organization of the voting process for the parliamentary elections in the liberated territories," he added.

On June 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree dissolving the sixth convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament and scheduling a snap election for September 1.
