Western Azerbaijan Community condemns EU parliament resolution urging to impose sanctions against Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. The Western Azerbaijan Community has condemned the European Parliament's resolution urging the European Union to impose sanctions against Azerbaijan, the statement of the West Azerbaijan Community said, TurkicWorld reports.

"Malicious foreign circles, controlled by one center, have intensified crusades against Azerbaijan in recent days under the pretext of ‘human rights’. Following the anti-Azerbaijani steps taken in Congress and the US State Department this week, the European Parliament on April 25 adopted an act full of prejudice and slander. Hypocritical European parliamentarians, supposedly concerned about the human rights of Azerbaijanis, in their resolution called on the European Union to impose sanctions against Azerbaijan.

One wonders why, in the last 30 years, when Armenia occupied Azerbaijani territories and subjected hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis to ethnic cleansing and massacred about 30,000 Azerbaijanis, their rights were not taken into account by the European Parliament. Why is the European Parliament not concerned that 300,000 Azerbaijanis exiled by Armenia from their territory cannot return to their homes and ignore the call of the Community of Western Azerbaijan for dialogue?

All of this proves that the real reason for the European Parliament's recent actions is not human rights but its inability to digest Azerbaijan's restoration of its territorial integrity.

If the European Parliament wants to promote human rights through sanctions, it should have tried to impose sanctions against Armenia, which has violated the fundamental rights of more than a million Azerbaijanis. The community of Western Azerbaijan demands that the European Parliament abandon its policy of discrimination and steps that aggravate the situation in the region and attempt to abuse the highest value, such as human rights, and respect the right of return of Azerbaijanis exiled from Armenia".
