Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation President and Lithuanian Ambassador meet

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 12.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Kęstutis Vaškelevičius, visited the headquarters of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and met with the President of the organization, Professor Aktoty Raimkulova,TurkicWorld reports.

During the meeting, the parties discussed projects implemented by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation aimed at preserving and promoting the rich Turkic cultural heritage, the ongoing cooperation within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Foundation and the Republic of Lithuania in 2021, as well as prospects for further collaboration.

Professor Aktoty Raimkulova particularly emphasized that the Foundation’s activities extend beyond Turkic countries and also include efforts to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Turkic-origin peoples living in Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and other countries.

The Ambassador highlighted his country’s interest in cooperation with the Foundation, noting that the Tatars and Karaites who have lived in Lithuania for more than 700 years possess an ancient cultural heritage, the preservation of which receives special attention from the state.

In this context, the parties exchanged views on the implementation of bilateral projects with the Foundation, including inviting representatives of Turkic-origin peoples from Lithuania to participate in various events.
