Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov held talks with member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Communist Party of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of the of the People's Republic of China Ma Xingrui as part of his working visit to Bishkek.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the field of transport, logistics, energy, agriculture, tourism, culture and education.

The head of the Cabinet noted the progressive development of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations based on the principles of good neighborliness, friendship, cooperation and comprehensive strategic partnership.

"The development of friendly relations with China is a priority in the foreign policy of the Kyrgyz Republic," he said.

Akylbek Zhaparov also stressed that the country's leadership continues to work actively to improve the investment climate in the country and create a favorable business environment. “China is the main trade and investment partner of the Kyrgyz Republic. We are pleased to invite state and private enterprises, companies from XUAR to take part in the implementation of investment projects in the field of mining, agriculture, agricultural processing, energy, transport and logistics,” the head of the Cabinet concluded.

Zhaparov also paid special attention to issues in the transport and logistics sector, in particular, the creation of conditions for the development of infrastructure at checkpoints located on the Kyrgyz-Chinese state border, the removal of restrictions that hinder dynamic and investment exchanges and the creation of mutually beneficial conditions in trade.

In turn, Ma Xingrui expressed his readiness to support all projects of mutual interest, and noted that, despite the coronavirus pandemic, good indicators were achieved in mutual trade between the two countries.

“XUAR is ready to continue making all necessary efforts to maintain the trend of growth in mutual trade, as well as to attract Chinese investment, given that Kyrgyzstan has all the conditions for comfortable doing business,” he said.

Following the meeting, the head of the Chinese delegation invited Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov to pay a working visit to XUAR.
