Kabar. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Communist Party of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China Ma Xingrui as part of his working visit to Bishkek.

At the meeting, the head of state noted that traditionally friendly and good-neighbourly relations, mutual trust between Kyrgyzstan and China contribute to the further strengthening of a comprehensive strategic partnership, as well as stability and security in the region, which fully meets common interests.

Sadyr Zhaparov stressed that China is one of the main trade and investment partners of Kyrgyzstan and highlighted the positive trend of increasing trade between Kyrgyzstan and XUAR.

He paid special attention to the development of a joint transport and logistics infrastructure and the creation of mutually beneficial conditions in trade to further increase the volume of trade.

Referring to the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project, the head of state noted that it would contribute to the deepening of trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the XUAR, and would also have a multiplicative effect on the development of other sectors of the economy.

Speaking about the expansion of investment cooperation, Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that active work is currently ongoing in Kyrgyzstan to create a favorable business environment and protect the interests of foreign investors, in connection with which he invited companies from the XUAR to take part in the implementation of investment projects in Kyrgyzstan.

Ma Xingrui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the CPC XUAR, in turn, conveyed warm greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping and noted that the main mission of the visit of the Chinese delegation to Kyrgyzstan is to implement the agreements between the heads of the two states.

Ma Xingrui noted that the leadership of the XUAR intends to intensify cooperation with the regions of Kyrgyzstan, this issue is already on the agenda.

Speaking about the trade turnover, he highlighted that Kyrgyzstan has become the largest partner of the XUAR, and the volume of mutual trade has already reached 1 billion US dollars.

To promote trade relations, Ma Xingrui supported the initiative to improve the infrastructure at checkpoints between the countries, and also expressed interest in increasing their number.

Noting the importance of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project, Ma Xingrui singled out its important economic component for all three parties.

The secretary of the Party Committee of the CPC XUAR voiced proposals on the possibilities of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the field of energy, medicine, culture and tourism, and also proposed to increase quotas for studying students from the Kyrgyz Republic in universities in China.
