Bishkek, March 28, 2023. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Hassan Ali Zaigam on the occasion of presenting his credentials.

The head of state congratulated the ambassador on the official start of the mission and wished him success in his diplomatic activities.

Sadyr Zhaparov also congratulated the fraternal people of Pakistan on the holy month of Ramadan. At the same time, he expressed his condolences to the families and relatives of those killed on March 21 as a result of a strong earthquake in Pakistan.

The President noted that the Kyrgyz side attaches great importance to trade and economic relations with Pakistan and is interested in increasing trade, in particular in the export of agricultural products of Kyrgyz farmers, in promoting investment and tourism cooperation.

The head of state proposed to strengthen scientific cooperation between higher educational institutions of Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan and launch a student exchange program.

For his part, Ambassador Hassan Ali Zaigam conveyed warm greetings from President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Arif Rahman Alvi to Sadyr Zhaparov, congratulated him on the holy month of Ramadan and expressed gratitude for his condolences.

Hasan Ali Zaigam noted that Pakistan is experiencing global climate change and the impact of natural disasters on the country. In this regard, the ambassador noted that the Pakistani side hopes for the support of Kyrgyzstan in activities aimed at preventing natural disasters.

The diplomat also stressed that bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan are consistently strengthened by fruitful cooperation in many areas of mutual interest.

Trade and economic interaction and cooperation in the field of tourism have great potential, according to Hassan Ali Zaigam. He proposed to continue work on launching direct flights from Lahore and Islamabad to Bishkek, which will have a positive impact on the growth of the tourist flow for both sides and create favorable conditions for business circles.

Regarding investment cooperation, Hasan Ali Zaigam stressed that Pakistani companies are interested in establishing joint ventures in Kyrgyzstan, in particular in the field of pharmaceuticals.

At the end of the meeting, Sadyr Zhaparov sent an invitation to the President of Pakistan to visit Kyrgyzstan at any time convenient for him, and also instructed to speed up the work on launching direct flights between the two countries.
