Kyrgyz-Russian consultations on countering new challenges and threats held in Bishkek

Bishkek, March 24, 2023. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz-Russian consultations on countering new challenges and threats were held in Bishkek, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The Kyrgyz part of the delegation, which included representatives of the relevant ministries and departments of the Kyrgyz Republic, was headed by First Deputy Foreign Minister Asein Isaev, and the Russian part was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov.

During the consultations, the parties discussed issues of regional security in the context of the situation in Afghanistan. They exchanged views on issues of international terrorism, countering drug trafficking and other threats, and the challenges of our time, both on a bilateral and multilateral basis within the framework of the CSTO, the CIS, the SCO and the UN.

Also, the sides considered issues of interaction in the field of migration, including planned changes in the legislation in this area, as well as improving established ties.

Following the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation in ensuring security, in particular, through the existing channels of interaction between the relevant structures of the two countries.
