BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 1. As you know, Kyrgyzstan has experienced three coups due to unfair and non-transparent electoral processes, stated President Sadyr Zhaparov at a meeting with international observers in Yntymak-Ordo, TurkicWorld reports via Kabar.
He cited the fact that Kyrgyz society is very sensitive to the integrity of elections as the reason.
"Democracy is not only the right to criticism and competition, but also adherence to rules and the obligation to respect the final decision of the people." "Kyrgyzstan has consciously chosen the path of democracy, the rule of law, and respect for human rights and freedoms," the head of state noted.
Zhaparov noted that Kyrgyzstan has made significant progress in recent years in improving its electoral legislation. In preparing for the current elections, proposals from international partners, particularly parliamentary assemblies and reputable international organizations, were taken into account.
"In particular, digital technologies were used, including biometric voter identification, an automatic electronic vote counting system, an online voter registry, and a remote voting system," he said.
The president emphasized that each citizen could vote only once, and this was completely transparent thanks to digital technologies.
