Meeting of CSTO Collective Security Council kicks off in Bishkek in narrow format

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 27. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov welcomed the heads of state of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member countries at the Yntymak-Ordo administrative complex in Bishkek, who arrived to participate in the latest session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, TurkicWorld reports via Kabar.

After the welcoming ceremony, the leaders posed for a joint photograph.

The meeting of the Collective Security Council then commenced behind closed doors in a restricted-attendance format.

The CSTO is a regional security organization comprising six member states: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan. The organization focuses on collective defense, military cooperation, joint exercises, crisis response, and coordinated measures to ensure regional security. The Collective Security Council, made up of the heads of the member states, is the organization’s highest decision-making body and convenes to set strategic priorities and approve key policy directions.
