BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 28. Kyrgyzstan imported 410.003 million cubic meters of natural gas from Russia from January through October 2024, which is a 48 percent increase compared to 276.032 million cubic meters during the same period in 2023, TurkicWorld reports.
The State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan reported that the value of these imports reached $61.5 million, reflecting a 48.5 percent increase from $41.4 million in the initial ten months of 2023.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 421.438 million cubic meters of natural gas worth $63.215 million during this period. The volume increased by 37.3 percent year-on-year, and the value rose by the same percentage.
In addition to Russia, Kyrgyzstan imported 11.434 million cubic meters of natural gas from Uzbekistan, worth $1.715 million.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $13.4 billion in 10 months, which is 6.4 percent more than in the same period of 2023.
Note that exports grew by 25.2 percent year-on-year to $3.1 billion, while imports increased by 1.8 percent to $10.3 billion.
