BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 22. Kyrgyzstan's President Sadyr Zhaparov will visit Russia's Tatarstan on October 23-24 to participate in the XVI BRICS summit, according to Muratbek Azymbakiev, head of the presidential administration's foreign policy department, TurkicWorld reports.
On October 24, a meeting of the heads of state will be held in Kazan as part of the summit. Azymbakiev emphasized that important decisions will be made during this meeting, focusing on strengthening multilateralism, integrating new members into the association, and addressing key global issues.
BRICS, founded in 2006, is an intergovernmental organization aiming to enhance cooperation among major emerging economies.
Russia assumed the BRICS chairmanship starting January 1, 2024. Currently, the organization’s membership extends beyond Russia, Brazil, India, China, and South Africa to include newer members such as Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
