BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 14. The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov has signed a law ratifying a protocol that amends the agreement on the customs code of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), TurkicWorld reports.
This law was approved by the Kyrgyz Parliament on September 18, 2024.
The protocol makes changes to the Customs Code established on April 11, 2017. It outlines the rules and conditions for importing e-commerce goods into the EAEU, their storage and use within the customs territory, and customs operations related to temporary storage, declaration, and release of e-commerce goods.
Additionally, the protocol introduces a new role in customs regulation: the e-commerce operator.
This operator will handle customs procedures for e-commerce goods in their respective EAEU member state, provided they are registered with the customs authority. The protocol also sets specific requirements for these e-commerce operators.
