BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 25. Kyrgyzstan has commenced the development of its largest titanium magnetite deposit, Kyzyl-Ompol, located in the Tash-Bulak site, TurkicWorld reports via the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.
"This is a very significant event for Kyrgyzstan. The Kyzyl-Ompol deposit contains millions of tons of titanium magnetite. Titanium is a valuable metal used in various industries, including medicine, aviation, and space exploration. The development of this deposit will not only boost our exports but also create new jobs, providing a stimulus for the country's economic development," Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov said at a ceremony dedicated to the start of exploration.
Zhaparov emphasized the importance of an environmentally safe approach to the deposit's development, ensuring that technologies will be employed to safely extract accompanying minerals such as uranium and thorium, which will be transported in strict accordance with international safety standards.
Moreover, Zhaparov took a good, hard look at the progress of a small hydroelectric power station that's currently in the works at the Ortok-Tokoy reservoir, as well as the reconstruction hustle and bustle on the Balykchy-Bokonbaev-Karakol road, particularly the Balykchy-Barskoon stretch.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of the road reconstruction and instructed responsible parties to expedite the work while ensuring quality execution of the project.
Zhaparov highlighted that modernizing the road infrastructure is crucial for developing the transportation system and ensuring road safety, a matter he will personally oversee.
