For 7 months of 2023, the foreign trade turnover of the Kyrgyz Republic with member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) increased by 8.6%, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov said at the expanded meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government.
According to him, also in the first half of 2023, 55% of the total investment inflow of Kyrgyzstan came from the SCO countries.
"However, despite the positive growth dynamics, trade and economic interaction between Kyrgyzstan and the SCO countries, which has a very high potential, has not yet been fully realized, which requires further measures to deepen trade ties," he said.
In 2022 in the total volume of trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan, SCO countries occupied 79.0%, including in exports - 79.5%, imports - 78.8%.
