The press service of the Kyrgyz Cabinet reported that during the meeting the sides discussed issues of further development of multifaceted cooperation within the SCO.

The head of the Cabinet noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches exceptional importance to its participation in the SCO.

"We are invariably determined to work actively on the whole range of SCO activities, strictly follow the principles of the SCO Charter, as well as the provisions of other international treaties and documents of the Organization," he said.

In addition, Akylbek Zhaparov made a number of proposals aimed at further development of multifaceted cooperation within the SCO.

He proposed to develop a "Roadmap" of joint activities with the participation of SCO dialog partners.

This initiative was voiced by President Sadyr Zhaparov during the SCO summit on July 4, 2023 in the format of a videoconference.

In the context of strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted the importance of using the potential of the SCO Cultural and Integration Center in Bishkek and continuing to support the SCO marathons, in particular, the SCO Issyk-Kul International Marathon and the SCO Kunming Marathon.

Along with this, Akylbek Zhaparov dwelt on the issues of ensuring regional security and implementation of economic projects, as well as focused on the project to implement the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad.

In turn, SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming noted the growing economic importance of the organization and stressed that the official events held in Bishkek in early October this year at the level of heads of SCO member states, as well as the events scheduled for Oct. 26 this year at the level of SCO heads of government are evidence that Kyrgyzstan is becoming the center of attention of the international community.

In addition, the SCO Secretary General reaffirmed the readiness of the SCO secretariat to provide comprehensive support in the implementation of the tasks and agreements reached at the level of SCO heads of state.

He also spoke about his personal participation in the SCO Issyk-Kul International Marathon, calling it "the main event of the SCO sports agenda".
