Bishkek, Sept. 15, 2023 / Kabar /. Minister of Defense of Kyrgyzstan Baktybek Bekbolotov visited Kazakhstan to take part in the active phase of the exercise of the air defense forces of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan “Combat Commonwealth-2023”, which took place at the Saryshagan training ground.
The joint maneuvers were also observed by Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Zhaksylykov, members of the Coordination Committee on Air Defense of the CIS Member States, as well as Omuraliev, Advisor to the Minister of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic and Commander of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic Aidaraliev.
In accordance with the plan of the exercise, combat firing of air defense troops and aviation crews of the Air Force of the North-East Military District of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan was shown at air and ground targets.
The heads of the defense departments of the two countries were shown elements of air defense of facilities and troop groups located in the Saryshagan direction. The final chord was “destruction of enemy airfield facilities.”
For the first time, military personnel of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic used in practice live firing from the modernized mobile anti-aircraft missile system "Pechora-2 BM", brought from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan for use during the exercises.
At the end of the live firing, the ministers examined mock-ups of targets, the Pechora-2BM air defense system of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces, the Buk-M2E and TOR-M2K air defense systems. We got acquainted with the work of mobile repair teams in the field to restore automotive equipment.
The joint exercise ended with a closing ceremony, during which the heads of defense departments awarded the participants in the exercise.
The joint exercise involved 1,075 military personnel, more than 200 units of military and special equipment, as well as over 30 aircraft.
