Airbus ready to provide Kyrgyzstan with aircarfts for domestic flights

Bishkek, July 7, 2023. /Kabar/. A meeting between Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to France Sadyk Cher-Niyaz and Airbus International’s Vice President for Eastern Europe and end Central Asia Jacques Garigue took place in building of "Airbus" representative office in Paris.

The meeting was held on the initiative of the Kyrgyz side to enhance the Kyrgyz-French bilateral cooperation in the field of aviation.

Cher-Niyaz noted with satisfaction the beginning of active cooperation with Airbus and the existing experience in the use of previously acquired helicopters.

At the same time, taking into account the experience and achievements of France in the field of aircraft construction, the Kyrgyz ambassador made a proposal to expand cooperation, in particular to purchase medium-class aircrafts for flights in the mountainous areas of Kyrgyzstan, as well as to use the capabilities of Airbus space satellite to monitor the border areas, change the beds of mountain rivers and rational use of agricultural land in the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

In turn, Jacques Garigue informed about the existing practice of using the A220 aircraft by Manas Airlines and readiness to consider positively the ambassador's proposal to provide the ATR-72 aircraft with a capacity of up to 90 people and with turboprops for short distance flights within the country. Regarding the use of the satellite, the possible mechanisms and financing options were discussed.

The sides also exchanged views on cooperation of Airbus with the countries of Central Asia in the region and at the end of the meeting confirmed their willingness to continue joint efforts to further expand cooperation in the field of aviation between Kyrgyzstan and France.
