Mayor of Bishkek Emilbek Abdykadyrov and Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank Denis Ilyin signed a Memorandum “On assistance using public-private partnership tools in the implementation of the city development program “Bishkek-2026. A well-maintained and green capital”.

The document was signed within the framework of the ongoing Eurasian Congress.

Bishkek Mayor Emilbek Abdykadyrov said that the signing of the memorandum gives rise to promising and long-term cooperation in order to develop investment projects that meet modern global challenges.

Thus, the project on the construction of a waste processing complex, implemented with the financial support of the EDB, will allow the municipal authorities to solve an important long-term problem of the city of Bishkek, create and approve a new waste management procedure, and also make a revolutionary transition from an outdated model of solid domestic waste disposal to a new progressive method of phased processing waste before recycling.

During the signing, the sides agreed to implement the best PPP practices through the preparation of projects, financing the preparation of pre-project documentation, including in the sector of solid waste management.
