Kyrgyzstan to open House of Trade in XUAR

Bishkek, May 26, 2023. /Kabar/. A Kyrgyz House of Trade will be opened in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

An agreement on this was signed yesterday, May 25, at a meeting of the Kyrgyz delegation with XUAR businessmen. The document was signed by the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic and China’s Ema company.

Representatives of more than 20 companies from Kyrgyzstan and 80 companies from China took part in the negotiations. They represented education, healthcare, hospitality, architecture and construction, information technology, logistics and international transportation, agriculture, energy, e-commerce and the financial sector.

The meeting was initiated by the business consulting company Huahe International, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the embassies of the Kyrgyz Republic in the PRC. The Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Torobaev. From the Ministry of Economy, Deputy Minister Ainura Usenbekova took part.

In his welcoming speech, Torobaev noted that in recent years, relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China have significantly strengthened in the business sector.

“I am sure that our meeting today will contribute to the further strengthening of cooperation, our relations will become stronger and more practical,” the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic emphasized.

Noting the investment opportunities, he said that over the past decade, the investment potential of the region has grown several times, and today the PRC occupies more than 26.3% in the inflow of foreign direct investment, or a total of $275 million, and is the leader in these indicators, occupying the leading place in the Kyrgyz Republic.
