An action plan for the implementation of the SCO Year of Environment in 2024, initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, was developed under Kazakhstan’s SCO chairmanship. Notably, environmental protection is one of the key tasks of Kazakhstan’s SCO chairmanship, Kazinform Agency reports.
Having supported this initiative, the member states spoke for the active realization of the events suggested by Kazakhstan aimed at rational nature management and improvement of ecosystems, preservation of biodiversity, and promotion of ecological knowledge and education.
Ecological organizations will hold 20 joint events in the territory of SCO in 2024, including those dated to the World Environment Day, the International Day for Biological Diversity, and the International Day of Forests.
As stated there, Kazakhstan is set to further promote SCO's practical environmental protection measures.
