FMs of Central Asia, EU debut full-format meeting

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 24. The Kazakh delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu took part in the 19th meeting of the ministerial meeting "Central Asia - European Union", TurkicWorld reports.

For the first time in history, this format brought together the heads of foreign affairs agencies of 5 Central Asian countries and 27 EU member states.

During the meeting, a joint road map for strengthening relations between Central Asian countries and the European Union was unveiled. The paper was created in accordance with the agreements reached between the Central Asian heads of state and the President of the European Council on June 2, 2023 in the city of Cholpon-Ata.

The Roadmap, which supplements the present EU Central Asia Strategy 2019, strengthens interregional collaboration significantly.

Following the conference, the chiefs of the Central Asian countries' and the EU's foreign affairs agencies issued a joint communiqué.

The next ministerial conference of the "Central Asia - European Union" is scheduled for 2024 in Turkmenistan.
