BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 3. v In parallel with Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council 12th Ministerial Meeting and Green Energy Advisory Council 4th Ministerial Meeting, the EU-Azerbaijan Green Connectivity Investment Roundtable was organized in Baku TurkicWorld reports via The Energy Ministery of Azerbaijan.
The event, attended by Deputy Energy Ministers Orkhan Zeynalov and Elnur Soltanov on behalf of Azerbaijan, and, on behalf of the European Union, by Ms Cristina Lobillo Borrero, Director of Energy Security and International Relations, European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy, as well as Ms Adrienn Kiraly, Director of Neighbourhood East and Türkiye, European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enlargement and the Eastern Neighbourhood, focused on cooperation in connectivity and transmission, renewable energy projects, electricity grids, energy efficiency, and energy storage. The roundtable addressed investment opportunities in Azerbaijan in the fields of energy connectivity, renewable energy, and energy efficiency, as well as identifying potential areas of EU support in these directions. Partnership opportunities between Azerbaijani and EU business communities were also assessed.
The roundtable brought together representatives of Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency, the Energy Regulatory Agency of Azerbaijan, GECO Power Company, Green Corridor Alliance, SOCAR Green, Azerenerji OJSC, Siemens Energy, TotalEnergies, Nobel Energy, Azerbaijan Green Energy Company, ACWA Power, Masdar, ENERCON, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, the International Finance Corporation, and the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce.
