Bishkek, Nov. 15, 2021 . / Kabar /. The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan intends to build several small HPPs using its own resources, Minister Doskul Bekmurzaev said at a ceremony to award certificates to companies that intend to build renewable energy facilities, Kabar reported.
He noted that the construction of Bala-Saruu HPP is continuing.
"In addition, we plan to build Orto-Tokoi, Sary-Dzhaz, Kara-Kul and Tort-Kul HPPs. The hydropower plants built on the dam will not have a negative impact on irrigation," the minister said.
Bekmurzaev added that small hydropower is the most promising for Kyrgyzstan today because it is one of the renewable energy sources.
