BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 4. As part of creating a "green energy zone" in the liberated territories, initiatives will focus on generating electricity from renewable sources, enhancing energy efficiency, promoting electric vehicle use, and installing renewable energy systems (in particular, solar panels) on building rooftops, the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency under the Ministry of Energy told TurkicWorld
The plan also includes using LED lighting for streets and roads and incorporating smart energy management technologies.
The Agency noted that the initiative includes measures such as generating electricity from renewable sources, enhancing energy efficiency, utilizing electric vehicles, installing renewable energy devices like solar panels on building rooftops, and implementing LED lighting for streets and roads, alongside smart energy consumption management technologies.
Electric vehicles are recognized as a vital element in fostering a cleaner environment in these areas. To facilitate this transition, developing the necessary electric charging infrastructure is considered an essential aspect of the "green energy zone".
By the end of 2024, a total of 20 charging stations are expected to be established in the liberated territories. Currently, there are 12 operational electric charging installations across 6 locations (Zangilan substation, Jabrayil Training Center, Khojaly Digital Management Center, etc.) of Azerishig OJSC.
Additionally, 3 charging units have been installed at the Congress Center in Zangilan, and 2 are available in the car park of the Shusha Hotel-Congress Center complex.
