BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 15. The 21st Conference on Gas Infrastructure in Europe ("Gas Infrastructure Europe" - GIE) will be held in Munich on October 17-18, TurkicWorldreports.
"Such conferences are held every year and gather leading European companies working in the gas market and are operators of gas infrastructure," the information noted.
The topics of the conference are energy transition, and the creation of sustainable solutions.
In particular, the executive director, representative of the Board of Directors of ICGB (company-operator of the interconnector Greece-Bulgaria - IGB) Teodora Georgieva will participate in this event.
Meanwhile, the throughput capacity of IGB is 3 bcm of gas per year.
ICGB is currently working to increase the capacity of this pipeline to five bcm per year, taking into account not only Azerbaijani gas but also gas from the new Greek Alexandroupolis LNG terminal and other sources.
To note, Europe has been receiving Azerbaijani gas since December 2020 via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), to which the IGB was docked in 2022.
Europe may receive more than 12 bcm of gas from Azerbaijan in 2024.
