BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 24. Azerbaijan has engaged in discussions with China regarding the further expansion of cooperation in the railway sector, Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev wrote on his Facebook page, TurkicWorld reports.
"As part of the visit to China, a meeting was held with the Chairman of the State Railway Administration of China, Liu Zhenfang. The ongoing expansion of railway cooperation between our two countries was discussed.
In January-August 2024, the volume of railway transit traffic between Azerbaijan and China surged by 275 percent compared to the same period last year.
Liu Zhenfang expressed China's interest in participating in the development of the Southern Route of the Middle Corridor and joining the Middle Corridor Multimodal Company, established through the collaboration of the railways of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Georgia," the minister's post reads.
