BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. The roll-out of the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between Azerbaijan and Pakistan is set to pave the way for fresh avenues in trade and investment between the two nations, Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Samad Bashirli said, TurkicWorld reports.
This comment was made by him today in Baku at the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Business Forum.
"The presence of a PTA will further strengthen our trade relations. We have many areas of application," the deputy minister emphasized.
He pointed out that the deal spans nine crucial products from both parties.
"Azerbaijan will apply an average fiscal tariff of 4.7 percent (range from two percent to five percent), while Pakistan's average tariff will be 4.6 percent (range from two percent to 12 percent)," the documents from the Ministry of Economy noted.
