TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 5. Uzbekistan plans to increase cargo transportation to EU countries through Bulgaria using the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, or the Middle Corridor), TurkicWorld reports.
This issue was revealed during a meeting of the joint Uzbek-Bulgarian commission on international road transport at Uzbekistan's Ministry of Transport.
The meeting participants talked about the potential for increasing collaboration in the field of international freight transportation by road and improving the environment for domestic carriers.
Following the meeting, the sides exchanged additional permit forms for 2024, and agreed on exchanging permits for 2025, increasing the volume by 15 times.
Uzbekistan reached an agreement with Romania to conduct bilateral and transit freight transportation without permits starting from April 1, 2024, to develop cargo transportation to EU countries by diversifying existing routes and developing alternative transport corridors.
