BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 27. The TAP AG consortium has detailed the work volume for September under the capacity expansion project of the pipeline, which is the European segment of the Southern Gas Corridor TurkicWorld reports.
According to the information, the consortium has scheduled for the second half of September infrastructure works at the Kipoi connection point on the Greek-Turkish border.
Furthermore, it is envisaged that another compressor unit will be installed at the existing compressor station in Kipoi and the equipment will be modernized. During this period, TAP AG plans gas transportation operations in a prudent manner, which means the consortium will act as a prudent operator.
"Thus, the expected technical capacity of IP Kipoi from September 17 through October 1 inclusive will be 349.8 kWh per day and 290.8 kWh per day at the Melendugno interconnection point. So far, there are no capacity constraints at the interconnection points with TAP," the statement of the company reads.
To note, the entire TAP expansion process will run until the end of 2025 and aims to add another 1.2 bcm to the current capacity of the pipeline (about 12 bcm/year) starting from January 1, 2026. The ongoing expansion process is financed by TAP's funds (about 132 million euros).
Azeri gas supplies via TAP began on December 31, 2020.
