BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 15. A solar power plant will be constructed in Hajigabul Industrial Park, TurkicWorld reports.
According to the Economic Zones Development Agency (IZIA) under Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy, the agency has signed a memorandum of understanding with AGAS Group LLC, a company specializing in alternative energy stations in Azerbaijan.
The memorandum was signed by Seymur Adigozalov, Chairman of the Board of IZIA, and Ilkin Guliyev, Chairman of the Management Board of AGAS Group LLC.
The agreement is really going the extra mile to back up commitments related to the COP29 conference and has its sights set on pushing forward reforms in green energy in the country.
Under the memorandum, plans are in place to provide Hajigabul Industrial Park with alternative energy. AGAS Group will develop a feasibility study for a 2.5 MW solar power plant in the park, with subsequent stages involving the project’s implementation and the provision of green energy.
The Economic Zones Development Agency was established as a state legal entity based on Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park LLC by Decree No. 1257 of the President of Azerbaijan, “On Measures to Improve Management of Industrial Parks, Industrial Districts and Agroparks,” dated January 22, 2021.
At present, the agency is juggling six industrial parks, four industrial quarters, 51 agro-parks, and a vocational training center.
