Iran urges relocation of fuel storage tanks outside Tehran amid threat of US and Israeli attacks

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 10. Iran’s Crisis Management Organisation has recommended relocating fuel storage tanks outside Tehran to protect civilians and limit potential damage in the event of US or Israeli attacks, the Tasnim news agency reported.

“The Crisis Management Organization has issued a formal expert recommendation to relocate these tanks to safe sites outside the city in order to protect the lives and property of citizens,” the organisation’s head, Hossein Sajedinia, said.

Sajedinia added that previous fires involving fuel storage tanks had been extinguished with assistance from Iranian energy companies.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to target Iran’s energy infrastructure. Tehran, in turn, has warned that it would retaliate by striking energy facilities across the Gulf region.

The recommendation comes amid heightened concerns over the potential impact of attacks on energy infrastructure in densely populated areas.
