BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 24. China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun has said that the continuation of the US-Iran conflict does not serve the interests of the countries involved or the wider international community.
Speaking to reporters in Beijing, Guo addressed questions regarding freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and stressed the importance of resolving disputes through diplomatic channels.
“It is vital for parties to choose peace, resolve disputes through dialogue and negotiation, and restore peace and tranquility to the Middle East and Gulf region at an early date,” Guo said.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that prolonged tensions could affect regional stability and international interests, particularly regarding security and maritime movement in the Gulf region.
China has repeatedly called for dialogue and diplomatic efforts to address disputes in the Middle East, while highlighting the importance of maintaining stability in strategic waterways.
