BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 8. The United States will continue its economic pressure campaign against Iran, US State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said following Washington’s latest sanctions targeting entities linked to Tehran’s aviation sector.
The State Department said the United States had sanctioned 36 entities connected to the Iranian government’s aviation industry, including 27 Iranian airlines.
Tommy Pigott said the latest measures were part of President Donald Trump’s broader campaign to restrict Iran’s financial resources.
“The United States will not relent in President Trump’s campaign to shut down the Iranian regime’s financial resources,” Pigott said in a statement.
The new sanctions represent another step in Washington’s continuing efforts to increase economic pressure on Tehran and limit the resources available to the Iranian government.
The measures come amid heightened tensions between the United States and Iran and a broader expansion of US sanctions targeting Iranian economic and financial networks.
