US CENTCOM says 84 commercial vessels redirected during naval blockade

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 1. US Central Command (CENTCOM) says its forces have redirected 84 commercial vessels as part of the ongoing naval blockade against Iran.

According to a statement published by CENTCOM on X, US forces have also disabled three vessels and boarded two others to “ensure compliance” with the blockade.

The latest figures show only a slight increase compared with those released on Sunday. At that time, CENTCOM reported that 83 commercial vessels had been redirected, while three vessels had been disabled and two boarded.

This means US forces redirected one additional commercial vessel over the past 48 hours, while the number of vessels disabled and boarded remained unchanged.

The figures come as US forces continue maritime operations aimed at enforcing restrictions on shipping linked to Iran.
