BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps Navy rejected US claims that the Strait of Hormuz was open, calling them an attempt to control oil prices and conceal what it described as US failures TurkicWorld reports via ARAB NEWS.
Trump has repeatedly said the strait is open, but the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' navy said in a statement that such claims "are an obvious lie," reiterating that the waterway remained closed to ships without Iranian permission.
It said the restrictions would continue until US military actions against Iran end and relevant commitments are implemented, according to a statement.
Preliminary shipping data released on Friday showed that only seven commodity vessels had transited the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, down from 17 a day earlier and below the 10-day average of 15.
