BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 28.Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said the Iranian people will never “forget” or “forgive” the deadly attack on the Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab.
Araghchi made the remarks while visiting an art exhibition in Tehran dedicated to the victims of the school attack, according to Iranian state broadcaster IRIB.
The foreign minister said the students killed in Minab had become a “heroic symbol” for the Iranian nation.
He stressed that the attack would remain in the country’s collective memory and said Iranians would neither forget nor forgive what happened.
The school in Minab, southern Iran, was struck on February 28 during the opening phase of the US-Israel war against Iran. Recent reporting describes the site as having become a memorial to the victims.
Iran has repeatedly blamed the United States for the attack. Human rights organisations have also attributed responsibility to Washington, while neither the United States nor Israel has publicly accepted responsibility for the strike, according to recent reporting.
Iranian officials have sought to preserve the memory of the Minab victims, with Tehran describing the attack as one of the defining civilian tragedies of the conflict. Iran’s Foreign Ministry has also emphasised the importance of recording the events of the war and passing their memory to future generations.
Araghchi’s latest remarks underscore Tehran’s position that the Minab school attack will remain a central part of Iran’s narrative of the war.
